Welcome to ICBA Professional Development Course Programme

The Institution of Commercial Business Agents (ICBA) is the UK’s leading forum for the professional development of agents and property professionals operating in the commercial sector.

We offer ready access to an unrivalled series of training opportunities aimed at individuals keen to enhance their performance, develop their careers and contribute more fully to the businesses in which they work.

Our current programme encompasses a range of specialist topics with content and delivery tailored to meet the needs of all practitioners, whatever stage they are at in their careers.

Course attendance can contribute to continuing professional development (CPD) and courses are open to everyone working in the sector.

However, ICBA also offers practitioners a membership opportunity, which entitles learners to substantial discounts on course prices, as well as offering a number of additional benefits.

Setting new standards in training for the commercial sector

ICBA believes that the provision of quality training for commercial agents has never been more important as practitioners already operating in a complex and dynamic business environment face further demands as a result of legislative and regulatory changes.

The high standard of our courses is intended to set the benchmark against which all such training in the sector is measured.

The development of ICBA training is managed by the NAEA’s professional development team, who created the first professional qualifications for residential agents in 1991, and which has since been accredited as an awarding body by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA), the government body responsible for developing the National Curriculum and for accrediting and monitoring qualifications in colleges and at work.

Tutors for each course are selected for their in-depth and specialist expertise in that field, and those currently working with ICBA are all commercial property professionals of many years standing. A number are published authors, and several regularly lecture at universities and on the national and international lecture circuit.

Making access straightforward

The purpose of this continuing professional development course programme is to set out ICBA’s current programme of courses. Topics cover all aspects of commercial agency from land law to ICT in the office, and from property inspection to health and safety regulations.

To help make the process of finding the appropriate courses easier, content is divided into three sections, for Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced levels.
