ICBA Membership

The Institution of Commercial & Business Agents (ICBA) has been set up by the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) to support the distinct professional needs of estate agents specialising in the commercial sector.

It has a strong focus on continuing professional development (CPD) an on professional training. As a specialist in the commercial sector you know that managing the sale, letting or purchase of commercial premises requires a high degree of technical knowledge and calls for specialist marketing and yet, before ICBA developed its commercially-focussed courses, there was no ongoing training available in Britain for those working in the sector.

Under the ICBA banner, more CPD courses and professional training programmes are being developed to meet the changing needs of commercial agents in their increasingly complex business environment.

Membership of the Institution entitles you to the following benefits-

CREDIBILITY - Demonstrate your integrity as a reputable commercial agent through membership of the ICBA.
QUALIFICATIONS - For those new to the industry why not consider taking the ICBA Technical Award in Commercial Property Agency - member discounts available. If you have over 3 years experience you could consider the ICBA Diploma in Commercial Property Agency (DipCPA).
POST NOMINALS – Corporate members can use designatory letters depending upon their grade of membership, displaying to your clients that you belong to the ICBA.
ICBA PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES – Members are entitled to substantial discounts on ICBA courses.
FREE LEGAL ADVICE - Members can access free legal advice through our free law lines.
WEEKLY EMAIL & TEA MAGAZINE – Keeps in touch with members and ensures they are kept up to date with what is going on in the industry through our weekly email and ‘The Estate Agent’ magazine.
BRANCH MEETINGS – Members have excellent networking opportunities by attending local branch meetings. These will also up keep you up to date with local and national ICBA activities.
HEALTH CARE – Members can take advantage of a private health care scheme run through MLP Health Care.
PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY INSURANCE – Members can benefit from discounted Professional Indemnity Insurance via the Institution’s insurance broker, Giles. (Giles Insurance services (UK) Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority).
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – Members of the ICBA complete a CPD record card and gain a certificate on receipt of this annually.
ICBA MAGAZINE SUPPLEMENT – this bi-monthly supplement will go out with The Estate Agent magazine and will specialise in commercial and business transfer agency.
FIND AN ICBA AGENT - The facility for the public to identify ICBA members. This will help market your company to the public.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ANSWERED - This will be an exclusive area on the ICBA website for access by members only. FAQ by members will be answered and displayed here.
